Westside Wardrobe

Atlanta's Westside Provisions district is proud to welcome Anthropologie. We are thrilled for another wonderful place to shop that sits alongside Howell Mill Rd. and makes great company with the likes of Sid Mashburn, Savvy Snoot, and Star Provisions.

I have eyed this building for some time now since Silk Trading Company moved out and it stood empty. I love the windows in this place and the curved dome shape and I dreamed of what would be perfect in this place. I always thought it would be ideal for a restaurant. But Anthropologie is perfect and perfection they did achieve with the build out. It is beautiful and I love the minty green color of the exterior perched between branch like structures.

The merchandising in Anthropologie stores has always been the best as far as I'm concerned. I love the flea market style tables with stacks of cups and dishes.

I love the clothes and the laid back styling of the mannequins and the Parisian flare of it all. This is definitely my new place to dream and drool.

Oscar Fashion

First of all, I was beyond thrilled that The King's Speech took home the Oscar for Best Picture...If you have not seen it, do yourself a favor! The acting is incredible and I was ecstatic to see my favorite actor take home his first Oscar as well - Colin Firth - well deserved! Only wishing Geoffrey Rush had won too!!
Amazing!

Now on to the fashion!!

My top pick was Cate Blanchett - so stunning in Givenchy Couture..the construction of this dress..the details of the back... the color combination of the lilac and citron...her hair and makeup = PERFECTION!

Always chic - Gwyneth Paltrow in a metallic sheath dress from Calvin Klein collection..the dress looked like liquid platinum on her! Tres chic! She is such a Country Star lately!

I will say that I do not think this dress photographed well but I do think Scarlett Johansson looked beautiful last night in lace Dolce & Gabbana! Her hair and makeup were the perfect modern compliment to her look!

I also thought Mila Kunis was ethereal and pretty in Elie Saab...this color and drape was really a breath of fresh air!!

And of course Halle Berre - who we all know could wear a burlap sack and look stunning...was gorgeous as usual in this nude Marchesa!

I won't say what I thought were the worst looks but in general I always wonder why more stars aren't willing to take more risks with fashion when they have every designer, stylist, makeup artist at their beck and call, not to mention the figure to pull it off! I mean in general there were some real snoozefest looks...So instead of trashing those looks..I will simply say what I would wear in the hypothetical world where I am walking the red carpet!
(please note: I do not want to be famous. Seriously!)

If I were going to wear red...it would be this..Elie Saab Spring 11 Couture
(or anything from his Spring 2011 Couture collection..all amazing! Which is why Mila Kunis made my list of Best Dressed!)
Look at the movement when she walks! Gorgeous!

If I were going to wear nude...Marchesa Spring 2011..
look at the detail (DON'T LOOK AT THE STYLING -
of course I would not rock an OliveOyl bun on the red carpet!)
I would do soft wavy hair and soft makeup - subtle smokey eye and peachy nude lip..

If I were preggers...I would wear this Marchesa number (modified to floor length of course) so that people's jaws would drop over the gorgeousness of my neckline instead of the size of my bump! (I would need those shoes and that bag too!!)
If I wanted to wear color....(and in this hypothetical world I did not have olive skin that would match this dress) I would wear this..with a hot pink lip...Elie Saab gorgeousness!
And then, when I was presenting the award for Best Actor to Colin Firth...I would change into this...just to rock a print! (Monique Lhuillier Sp 2011 RTW)
Does it look like curtains to you? I love it! Lilac lip!
What did you think? Who were your faves?!
