Bocado Burger Attack

I've been to Bocado several times now but this time I had a new mission. I've read the blog, magazine, and newspaper raves about the burger stack and I set my sites on trying it out for my birthday dinner this year. The burger is two patties simply with a perfectly toasted on the outside and soft on the inside bun. It is simply dressed with housemade pickles and american cheese. Nothing else. And it is fabulous. I will be back again and again. This is the burger that I will crave!

A birthday dinner would not be complete without some other samplings so here are the other things we ordered. We started with a beet salad featuring red and yellow beets that paired with gorganzola, red onion, and pecans. Delicious, even for the beet adverse like myself.

The steak tartare was great. The crispy capers were the star for me.

My mom ordered my usual favorite on the menu which is the roasted poblano & pimento cheese sandwich with bacon, fried green tomato, and spicy sauce. I had a hard time ordering the burger instead of this sandwich but in the end, I'm glad I ventured out.

I don't know if I can ever say enough about food, but enough for now and on to the decor. I love this idea for a wine wall especially nice because of the hot green wall behind it.

This particular evening we ate early and the shadows were amazing. I got a bit caught up in them. I have always loved shadows.

Bocado is another great restaurant on the Westside located at the corner of Howell Mill and Marietta Street.
